The modern architecture of our nation has continued to make important contributions to the cultural arts of the world, yet for a long time, there has been no proper system or establishment serving to pass on its academic, historical, and artistic value to future generations. In aiming to prevent the deterioration, dissipation, and loss of materials (drawings, models, etc.) relating to our nation’s modern architecture, we will conduct nation-wide surveys to identify the location of such materials, coordinate with the various institutions (universities, etc.) holding the materials, and collect and preserve any materials that are in need of immediate protection. Additionally, we will strive to expand the general public’s understanding of modern architecture and their associated materials through conducting exhibitions and outreach activities.
